This winter the weather and temperatures have been all over the map. Bill and I took a walk along the rail trail this morning and we just wanted to offer a head's up if you're planning to go sledding this weekend.
The picture below was taken just an hour ago after several sleds went by. As you can see they're churning up gravel. We had a significant melt off and we haven't had much snowfall since which means the trails can't be groomed right now. We also came upon a section of solid ice.
Gravel can't be good for your sled and the slick sheets of ice can be dangerous especially around those blind turns. Again, we just want everyone to be safe.
